Norman Mailer dies at 84

Mailer died of acute renal failure at Mount Sinai Hospital. From his debut novel to his literary journalism,  the two-time Pulitzer Prize winner always got credit for insight, passion and originality.

    2007 has clearly been the Year of Dead Authors. Vonnegut, L’Engle, and a week after Norman Mailer, Ira Levin died. And to think, we still have weeks of 2007 left.
