Henri For Sale

I’ve received as many compliments on my articles as I have criticisms on my creative work. But I didn’t know, until recently, that my articles were so valuable. I just found out about this and have little to say about this, since I’m not getting any additional compensation!

Even a Writer Has His Price

I turned away some freelance work recently. When I first contacted the editor I was excited. Bar reviews. Right up my alley. The pay was decent too. It came out to about 10 cents per word. Respectable. The only problem was the reviews were only for NYC, which I live right outside of. Just getting in alone would cost me the price of my first bar review. So after some thought I decided it wasn’t worth it for me. Which worked out in some ways. The editor, Erin, was really cool. I recommended a friend and fellow writer, who may get some work out of it. Well here is my sample that got me the freelance I turned down. Mustang Marti’s If you’re into transvestites with mullets and middle aged man that wear NASCAR paraphernalia, Mustang Marti’s is the place for you. The wine may come out of a box, but they offer over 150 types of beer and ale that are always cold whether they are tap or bottle. Graceful carousel horses, bears, lamas and rosters hang from the ceiling and the traditional Irish pub theme goes a long way, transporting you out of New York. Regardless of the crowd’s taste in hairdos, this is one place you can always find comfort in knowing a night out is a night out, not a plague of unwanted flirting. The crowd is there to enjoy time away from the busy New York life and listen to local bands bring rock to life.
